Is this just for radio stations?
No. We work with music, sports, and talk stations, online-only broadcasters, and teams producing live audio events. Podcasters planning a live show are welcome, too. Tell us about your project and we’ll talk through the setup.
Can I use my existing encoder?
We support software and hardware encoders with Icecast-compatible output. Secure SSL/TLS connections are preferred, and legacy connections can be arranged for older equipment. We’ll provide your server address, port, mount point, and login credentials. Send us your encoder’s make, model, software version, and audio format so we can confirm compatibility and help you configure it.
What audio quality options do you offer?
From efficient mobile listening to hi-fi playback, we help you choose the right quality for your audience. We offer standard streaming up to 320 kbps and lossless options. We’ll help you find the right fit for your audio and where your listeners tune in.
Do you offer lossless streaming?
Yes. Our lossless option is for broadcasters and streamers building a premium listening experience. It preserves a lossless audio source without adding lossy compression, carrying the detail in your sound through to the listener. Our player supports lossless playback, and the listener’s device must support it too. Lossless streaming uses substantially more bandwidth than standard streaming, increasing data use for both your service and your listeners. We’ll help you plan the source, device compatibility, and bandwidth for your setup.
What comes with the streaming service?
Stream hosting, a choice of website players, hands-on support, and a Metadata Tool subscription for your station. You can also connect your own player. We’ll confirm the scope for your setup in your quote.
Can you help us move an existing stream?
Yes. We’ll review your current setup and work with you on the connections and player changes needed for the move. Tell us about any timing requirements when you get in touch.
Is the branded app available now?
The included branded app is currently in a limited trial. Get in touch to ask about trying it with your station. You’ll need your own Apple Developer account for iOS and Google Play developer account for Android, and you’ll pay the applicable account fees.
