Which radio automation systems can I connect?
Our metadata tool has been tested with ENCO DAD and WideOrbit Automation for Radio. Other radio automation systems can connect if they provide a compatible XML, JSON, or key-value metadata export. During setup, you choose the data source and match its fields to the track details you want to share.
Does this tool replace my radio automation system?
No. Your radio automation system keeps handling playlists, scheduling, and audio playback. Our metadata tool takes the now-playing information it produces and sends it to your website, RDS encoder, or other compatible destinations.
Which RDS encoders does the metadata tool support?
Our metadata tool includes pre-configured settings for Inovonics 732, Pira P332 / P-family, and DEVA SmartGen TCP. Other encoders may work with a generic profile if they accept compatible text commands over TCP or UDP.
Can I send metadata to my website and RDS encoder at the same time?
Yes. Send the same now-playing update to both, and choose the details each receives. For example, share a title, artist, and album with your website while sending “Title — Artist” to your RDS encoder. Your website needs a compatible receiver program that accepts the now-playing data the tool sends as JSON over HTTP.
Can I choose the song details sent to my website?
Yes. Choose which details to send and rename the fields to match your website’s requirements, without writing code. For example, if your website expects a field called song instead of title, you can make that change in the tool. The updates are sent in JSON format.
Can I check incoming metadata before sending it live?
Yes. When connecting a TCP network feed, you can capture a real update and preview its title, artist, and other details before sending anything live. This helps you catch missing or incorrectly matched fields during setup.
Can I connect multiple automation feeds?
Yes. Connect several file-based or TCP network feeds at the same time, and give each its own destinations and rules. You can update one feed’s settings while the others continue running.
Can I keep ads or talk segments out of my RDS text?
Yes, if your automation identifies music, ads, or talk in its metadata. You can set the tool to send only items marked as music to your RDS encoder while your website receives every category. The rules use those labels, so they do not need to recognize or analyze the audio.
What happens if a destination is unavailable?
Other destinations keep receiving their updates, and the tool records the problem so you can investigate. After repeated failures, it disables the affected destination until you address it. Missed updates are not saved for later delivery.
